General Land Use Description: woods, some clear cut several years ago
General Terrain Description: Rolling hills of mixed pine and oak, some clear cuts that have been replanted and not replanted, all in various stages of regrowth. Bottom land swamps and beaver ponds draining east into Pigeon Creek. Witness was in an open, portable tree stand in the upper corner of a small clear-cut that was an offshoot of the main clear cut. He was looking down slope to where this offshoot clearcut flattened out at the wooded bottomlands.
Nearest Lakes or Streams: small tributaries draining though swamps and beaver ponds into Pigeon Creek, which empties into the Sepulga River, which empties into the Conecuh River.
Witness Profile: Witness has been hunting since he was four years old. His family and in-laws are all hunters. No bigfoots had ever been reported seen by the witness, his family, or any other people he associated with. The witness had always believed that bigfoots did not exist and could not possibly exist.
Details of Encounter / Incident: Witness was sitting in tree stand all afternoon slowly scanning an arc greater than 180 degrees. No deer wereseen.
Toward dusk he heard footsteps. He yet again re-scanned a particular area where he had all day expected to see a deer come up out of the beaver pond bottoms into the clear cut. There, next to a tree about 45 yards away, was a human form. He was surprised to see this human form because he was on private land leased by his family for hunting and his family members knew not to hunt in his shooting lanes. Witness briefly speculated this human form to be a person in a ghillie suit, but without a bow or other gear. He then realized the human form was shaggy hairy in appearance.
As he watched this human form looking back at him he realized it must be a bigfoot. The witness and bigfoot watched each other for about 15 minutes until it was too dark to see it any more. He then started climbed down, packed his gear, and left. The witness feels the bigfoot knew of his location for some time before he saw it.
The witness said he went back a week latter to look the area over and found large but indistinct footprint like impressions in the leaf litter of the marshy ground inside the tree line.
The witness resume hunting deer in this particular area after rifle season commenced.
Description of the bigfoot :
Height:. Witness judged from the height of bushes and tree the bigfoot was standing near that the bigfoot must have been around eight feet tall. He confirmed this on his next visit to the area. Witness is 6 ft tall
Facial hair: bearded except no hair around mouth, nose, and eyes.
Body hair: about 6 inches long and shaggy multiple color light blackish with graying on the chest area, darker on head.
Description of Related Sounds: Only sounds were of footprints. No vocal sounds heard.
Description of Related Scents / Odors: None noted. No air was moving.
