Native Human Technology and Food

As we learn about how bigfoots live with the wildlands and on the fringes of modern human habitations, it might be informative to study native human cultures and the earliest native human technologies.

Bigfoots are hunter-gatherers who employ almost no technology to make the land habitable. All human hunter-gatherers use some form of technology to make the land habitable. Modern humans label hunter-gatherer technology as primitive technology. My limited study of hunter-gatherer technology has convinced me that the term primitive is not applicable. It is sufficiently advanced that modern humans would have difficulty learning it without instructions. The word primitive more accurately applies to bigfoots’ nearly non-existent tool and shelter manufacture.

When Europeans finally arrived (lastly) in the Americas, they found two basic types of native human cultures. One was a somewhat urbanized, agriculturally fed, empiric culture, exemplified by the Incas and the Aztecs. The second type of culture was a hunter-gatherer type, which in many areas included village scaled plant agriculture.

Native Americans living the hunter-gatherer type culture used the same “Universal Native Human Technology” which was also utilized by Native Europeans, Native Asians, and Native Africans during times more distantly past. It was a technology used since the beginnings of the human species.  The creativity of the human mind applied to the “Universal Native Human Technology” yielded endless variations in craftsmanship and artisanship through time and across geography. These variations differentiated peoples into distinctly identifiable cultures, subcultures, tribes, clans, and families.

The descendants of Native North Americans have done much to preserve, relearn, and teach their varied and uniquely crafted versions of the “Universal Native Human Technology”. They are an example for the peoples of the rest of geography to emulate.

Below you will find links to a sampling of websites that describe, teach, and even sell artful examples of native human hunter-gatherer technology, “The Universal Native Human Technology” which all our ancestors once shared in common.
